This Uxbridge home now has white plantation shutters on windows throughout the house, from the living and dining rooms to the kitchen, three bedrooms, the ensuite and even the laundry room. Using the same shutter in every room gives the house one consistent look, inside and from the street.
Every shutter was custom-made to its window. Wide windows, like the one in the front room and the primary bedroom, are split into three panels; taller windows have a divider rail across the middle, so the top and bottom sections can be set differently. Tilt the bottom closed for privacy and leave the top open for daylight.
Kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms
Shutters suit the rooms where fabric struggles. Over the kitchen sink, above the ensuite soaker tub and in the laundry room, there is no fabric to stain and the louvres wipe clean, while still controlling light and privacy.
The arched window
One bedroom has a half-round arch above its main window. Here the shutters cover the rectangular window, where privacy matters, and the arch is left open to bring in daylight. Arches can also be covered with a custom-shaped shutter or an arched blind.

We bring samples to your home, measure every window and give you a written quote on the same visit. See our plantation shutters page for styles and louvre sizes.
