Luna Window Coverings · Custom Roman Shades · Southern Ontario
Fabric. Folds. Made for Your Home.
Luna Window Coverings makes custom Roman shades for homes in Brampton, Mississauga, Toronto, Vaughan, Oakville, Hamilton, Markham, Oshawa, Niagara, London, Waterloo, Barrie, and surrounding communities. Available in flat, hobbled, relaxed, and waterfall fold styles with your choice of fabric, lining, and lift system. Every shade is measured and installed by our team.
Roman shades have been a staple in interior design for decades because they do two things better than most window coverings: they bring fabric warmth and texture to a window, and they stack neatly out of the way when raised. The fold style you choose changes how the shade looks when lowered, giving you everything from a crisp tailored panel to soft casual drape. Luna makes every Roman shade to the exact size of your window, with your choice of fabric and lining.
Choose Your Style
When lowered, a flat Roman shade lies completely smooth with no visible folds. The fabric hangs as a single flat panel, which gives windows a clean, modern look that suits contemporary and minimalist interiors. When raised, the shade folds into neat horizontal pleats that stack at the top.
This style works well with patterned fabrics because the full design is on display when the shade is down. It also works well with any lining, including blackout and thermal options.
Clean Lines Pattern Friendly Modern LookThe hobbled style has continuous soft loops of fabric that are visible even when the shade is fully lowered. Extra fabric is sewn in at each fold line so the shade always has a layered, cascading look regardless of where it is set. This gives the window a more formal, traditional appearance.
Because the fabric is always gathered in folds, this style uses more material than a flat Roman. It suits solid fabrics and subtle textures better than large patterns, since the folds partially obscure the design.
Formal Look Always Draped Traditional StyleThe relaxed style hangs flat like a standard Roman but the bottom hem curves gently downward in the centre, creating a soft scalloped shape. The sides hang straight while the middle dips in a natural swag. This gives the shade a casual, informal character that works well in kitchens, breakfast nooks, and family rooms.
Unlike the hobbled style, the relaxed Roman is completely flat when raised. The curved hem is a result of how the cords are positioned, not extra fabric, so it works with almost any weight of fabric.
Casual Feel Curved Hem Informal SpacesThe waterfall style stacks in neat, evenly spaced horizontal folds when the shade is lowered. Unlike a hobbled Roman, the folds do not loop but instead stack face-forward in clean, overlapping tiers that give the shade a structured, tailored appearance with more visual depth than a flat Roman.
This style is a good middle ground between the completely flat look and the more formal hobbled style. The defined fold lines make it a strong choice for rooms where you want the shade to be a visual element rather than disappear into the wall.
Structured Folds Visual Depth VersatileKey Features and Benefits
Roman shades can be made with virtually any fabric, from sheer linen and cotton to velvet and patterned prints. The lining sewn to the back controls light: unlined sheers for diffused light, light-filtering lining for everyday rooms, and blackout lining for bedrooms and nurseries. Luna brings fabric and lining samples to your home so you can compare them in your own space.
Motorized Roman shades operate via remote, wall switch, or app. This is especially practical for windows above furniture or kitchen counters where reaching a cord is inconvenient, and for large windows where you want multiple shades to raise and lower together. Compatible with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomeKit.
Roman shades can be installed inside the window frame for a tight, built-in look, or outside the frame to cover a larger area and make the window appear taller and wider. Our consultants will measure both options at your appointment and explain the trade-offs for your specific windows so you can decide what works best in each room.
Roman shades are a practical choice for kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and offices. The wide range of fabric weights and lining options means you can configure the same shade style for soft ambient light in a living area or complete blackout in a bedroom. One product that works across your whole home.

Why Luna Window Coverings
We bring fabric and lining samples directly to your home. You can hold each fabric up to your window, see how light passes through it, and compare colours against your walls and furniture before making any decisions. No guessing based on a small swatch card or a website photo.
Roman shades need precise measurements to fold evenly and hang straight. Our team measures each window carefully, accounting for frame depth, mounting clearances, and any obstacles like handles or sill protrusions. Getting the measurement right the first time means the shade works correctly from day one.
Every order includes installation by our trained team. Hardware is mounted level, folds are set correctly, and motorized units are fully configured and tested before we leave. We serve Brampton, Mississauga, Toronto, Vaughan, Oakville, Hamilton, Markham, Oshawa, Niagara, London, Waterloo, Barrie, and all surrounding areas.
Our in-home consultation is completely free. We measure your windows, show you fabric and fold options, and give you a full quote before you decide anything. There is no pressure to buy on the day and no fee if you want to take time to think it over.

Common Questions
Roman shades are fabric window coverings that fold up into horizontal pleats when raised. A series of rings and cords sewn into the back of the fabric pull the shade up in even increments. When lowered, the shade hangs as a fabric panel. They combine the coverage and light control of a shade with the warmth and texture of fabric, which is why they have stayed popular in interior design for so long.
A flat Roman hangs completely smooth with no visible folds when lowered, giving a clean, tailored look. A hobbled Roman has continuous soft loops of fabric that are visible even when fully lowered, creating a more traditional appearance. A relaxed Roman is flat on the sides but has a gentle curved dip at the bottom hem for a casual feel. A waterfall Roman stacks in neat, visible horizontal tiers. Our consultants can show you all four styles at your in-home appointment.
Yes. Luna offers motorized Roman shades with quiet motors that can be controlled by remote, wall switch, or smartphone app. They work with Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomeKit. Motorized Romans are a practical choice for windows above counters or furniture where reaching a cord is awkward, and for homes where you want several shades to operate together.
Yes. Roman shades with blackout lining block light well in bedrooms. The lining is attached directly to the back of the face fabric, so the shade blocks light while the room-side appearance remains the fabric you chose. For the most complete light blocking, we can also fit side channels that close the gap between the shade and window frame. Our team will walk you through all the options at your consultation.
Roman shades can be made with almost any fabric. Common choices include linen, cotton, velvet, textured weaves, and patterned prints. The fabric you choose affects how the folds drape and how the shade looks overall. Lighter fabrics create softer, more relaxed folds while heavier fabrics produce crisper, more structured ones. Luna brings a full fabric collection to your home so you can compare them in your actual space.
The price depends on window size, fabric choice, fold style, lining type, and whether motorization is included. Luna provides a free in-home consultation with a full quote at no obligation. Yes. Luna Window Coverings serves Brampton, Mississauga, Toronto, Vaughan, Oakville, Hamilton, Markham, Oshawa, Niagara, London, Waterloo, Barrie, and all surrounding communities. Installation is included with every order.
Most Roman shades should be spot-cleaned with a lightly damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid soaking the fabric or applying heat, as this can cause shrinkage or distort the fold lines. Lined Romans and delicate fabrics are best dry-cleaned. Luna provides care instructions specific to your fabric with every installation.
Our Promise to You
Every Roman shade is measured by our trained consultants. We record width, height, mounting depth, and any clearances needed for handles or hardware. Inside mounts are checked for depth. Outside mounts are positioned to cover the full opening. If anything is not right, we fix it.
We come to you with fabric samples, lining samples, and fold style examples. You can compare everything in your own home, in your own lighting, before making any decisions. The consultation is free with no obligation, available across all 12 of our Ontario service areas.
Installation is included with every order. Our team mounts the hardware, sets the folds correctly, and runs through how to operate the shade with you before leaving. For motorized orders we configure the motor limits and test the integration with your smart home system.
If you have questions after we leave, need an adjustment, or want to add Roman shades to other rooms, we are easy to reach. We work with our clients on a long-term basis and are happy to come back when needed. Luna is not a one-time transaction.
